As leader of our Democratic Services team, you’ll shape our approach to Governance. We aim to build on our robust corporate governance culture to meet the highest ethical standards. You’ll drive development, supporting improvement and managing our team. At the same time, you’ll direct our Scrutiny function and act as Deputy Monitoring Officer, ensuring we meet our statutory obligations.

At this level, you’ll be a source of expert advice to senior figures and our regulatory committees. You’ll also be responsible for Data Protection, Freedom of Information and the Elections Team Leader. It’s all about making sure we comply with legislation and standards, and respect democratic processes. We therefore need a determined, decisive leader with integrity and in-depth knowledge of the law.

Educated to degree-level, you’ve managed a Governance function before. You have experience of elections processes and as a Deputy Monitoring Officer. Now you’re ready to use your expertise to bring improvements at a Council that’s open to change. A positive and resilient manager, you’ll be good with people and an ambassador for the Council.
